OUR COMMITMENT TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

In September 2015, world leaders committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) providing universal agreement for development priorities. Comprising 17 goals and specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years, the ultimate objectives of the SDG include ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. All governments are expected to take ownership and establish frameworks for the achievement of the goals in partnership with the private sector, civil society and all citizens. Sri Lanka too committed to the SDGs, and as an organization NDB is exploring the goals that are most relevant to our industry and ways in which we can contribute towards achievement of the goals, as illustrated below.
