NDB recently held the NDB Toastmasters’ Best Speaker Contest Season 05 Grand Finale at Lavender Hall, BMICH at Grand Scale graced by Mr. Indika Ranaweera - Vice President, SME, Middle Markets and Business Banking of NDB Bank as the Chief Guest and Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Nisal Weerakoon - Club Growth Director, District 82. Keynote address for the event was conducted by Mr. Dileep Mudadeniya - CEO Cinnamon Life Mall, VP- John Keells Group.
Grand Finale consisted of 06 Finalists who were carefully selected by a team of Judges lead by the Chief Judge - Toastmaster Jagath Lal Wickramasekara from the Initial Round & Semi Finals. While the judges selected the "Best Speaker", employees of NDB were given an opportunity to select their favourite contestant as the "Most Popular Speaker" through an internal voting.
Accordingly, Yasasthi Ranasinghe was crowned the Best Speaker followed by Navodya Gamage and Damithri Subasinghe as the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. Devapriya De Silva emerged as the "Most Popular Speaker".
Project Chair for the contest was Toastmaster Shalini Samarasinghe - Vice President - Public Relations with the assistance of the Immediate Past President of NDB Toastmasters Club & the Current Area Director Toastmaster Mario De Silva and the President of NDB Toastmasters Club Toastmaster Himaayath Hazeer and the Two Executive Committees for the years 2019/2020 & 2020/2021"
The NDB Best Speaker Contest – Season 05 commenced calling its’ applications in February 2020. The contest aimed to identify the proficient speakers within the NDB Group; thus, the contest did not limit merely to the bank, rather accepted contestants from group companies as well. The contest was organized by the NDB Toastmasters Club with the collaboration of the Human Resource Department.
For the Season – 05 the Trainers are Toastmaster Shuvo Hridayesh & Toastmaster Thilina Bandara from Success Zante.
